Heavy pictures under cut.

I used the same motif as this tutorial. There was a story behind that. My mother, she loves earrings but not the long ones. I can't use hook earwires because it'll make the long earrings. So I need to use something like ear studs and string the crystals to it.

I use the method how to stick my work to ear stud from Japanese bead book, Bead de Bead. But the earring design is mine.

Equipment :
- 4 mm. Bicones Swarovski Crystal.
- 6 mm. Pearl.
- Seed beads.
- Ear studs.
- Earring backs.
- Nylon coated thread no. 20.

I can't use the earring back that came with the earstud. With this design, the flower will face down if the back is too small.

#1

Cut the nylon thread about 100 cm. Form a circle of six beads.

Well, actually, step 1 to step 6 are the same as this tutorial, step 1 to step 7.

#2

One thread strings with crystal, seed bead, crystal and seed bead. Then join both threads at a crystal (red arrow).

#3

Put the inner thread inside the seed bead (red arrow). The outbound thread strings with seed bead, crystal and seed bead.

#4

Join both lines by a crystal (red arrow).

#5

Repeat step 3 and 4 around the circle until you reach the last seed bead. Put the string into the last seed bead (red arrow) and the first crystal (blue arrow).

#6

Add seed bead to both lines and join them with a crystal (red arrow).

#7

Now we will string the motif to the ear stud. String the threads back into the seed beads (red arrows) and crystals (blue arrows).

#8

Add three seed beads to each line and join the lines with a seed bead (red arrow).

#9

Add four seed beads to one thread and join both threads with a seed bead (red arrow).

#10

Put the inner thread into the current three seed beads (red arrow), then through to crystal, seed bead, crystal, seed bead and crystal (blue arrow).

#11

Now join both lines with three seed beads (red arrow).

#12

Put the above thread into the next seed bead (red arrow). For the below thread, just pass around the crystal, seed bead, crystal, seed bead and crystal (blue arrow).

#13

Repeat step 11 and step 12 around the seed bead circle. Now, before you close the last circle, put the ear stud inside it. It's quite difficult to put it in. Nobody wants to be in a cage, right? Just try to put it in and close it by using three seed beads.

#14

Now string the threads back into the outbound crystal (red arrow). You can string to any bead or crystal. There is no fix rule. just make sure to join both strings at the outbound crystal.

#15

Add three seed beads to each line and put the lines into the crystal (red arrows). Do it around the motif.

#16

Now, put the string into the first and second seed beads (red arrow).

#17

Add crystal, seed bead and crystal. Then put the thread into the second seed bead (red arrow) and continue around the motif. Pull the threads tight.

#18

It looks quite empty and undone in the center so we are going to add a pearl here. Now, put the string back into the inner crystal (red arrow). Again, you can string to any inner crystal you like.

#19

Add a pearl to the string. Then put the string into the crystal (red arrow). Well just make sure this crystal is at the opposite side of the previous crystal.

Now, string back and forth to tighten your work, tie the threads together and keep the remaining threads.

Done!
